As always, we'll do our best to remove the jargon from these topics, and translate them into actionable strategies that you can use now in your work.
But first we'll give you next week off to mainline election news, and then pick things back up when the world has hopefully settled down.
And just a quick word about that election: Whatever happens, whatever you want to happen, whatever you're afraid of happening, we can guarantee you one thing: Behind the mountains, there are more mountains. For better or for worse, nothing ends on Tuesday, or whenever the votes are counted, or whenever the winners are sworn in. To quote the great Jon Stewart:
“If your guy [or woman] loses, bad things might happen. But if your guy [or woman] wins, the country is in no way saved . . . The work of making this world resemble one that you would prefer to live in is a LUNCH PAIL F*CKING job, day in and day out, where thousands of committed, anonymous, smart, and dedicated people bang on closed doors, and pick up those that are fallen, and grind away on issues until they get a positive result, and even then have to stay on to make sure that result holds.
So the good news is, I'm not saying you don't have to worry about who wins the election. I'm saying you have to worry about every day before it and every day after—FOREVER."
What a beautiful transition.
That's the work we'll pick up here in a few weeks.
