The Only Way To Ensure You're Reaching President Trump and His Influencers
Since last year's presidential election, countless organizations have been trying to reach President Trump and his influencers. Here at Artificially Intelligent, we've heard various theories on how best to do this, ranging from expensive black box data sets to advertising on particular websites or TV stations, to carpet-bombing Washington and Palm Beach with ads, and many permutations of these ideas. But there's only one way to ensure that your paid messages are being delivered to the new Administration, and in today's short newsletter, we show you how.
GPS Location Data Reaches Precisely Your Target Audience
GPS location data comes from the countless mobile apps that people share location data with. Many of the apps are household names like Uber, Instacart, and Amazon that rely on precision data to deliver your food or pick you up on the correct side of the street. However, the data also comes from thousands of weather apps, airline apps, news apps, and dozens of other categories that rely on location data. These apps then resell that data to advertisers, allowing you to achieve GPS-level precision with your ad targeting.
So when we're trying to reach people at Mar-a-Lago, we draw a geofence like this:
And when we're trying to reach people in the White House, we draw a geofence like this:
Don't Overcomplicate Identifying President Trump's Influencers
The same strategy above applies whether you are trying to reach President Trump or his influencers because his influencers are extremely well-known people. Some of them are truly household names, and the others are household names within The Beltway. It makes no sense to pay for black box data sets or other bank-shot targeting approaches when we know exactly who these people are.
In fact, the vast majority of these influencers are already captured in The White House or Mar-a-Lago geofences. Some will be better captured at President Trump's Bedminster home/golf club, like this:
Once we've captured the devices within these geofences, we then advertise to them wherever they are on the open web, including Connected TV. This eliminates the guesswork of trying to figure out when and where to find your targets. Critically, you can show your clients precisely how many ads were delivered to your exact targets.
For the stragglers, we would geofence them at their own homes or offices. But there's no need to overthink who this group is. People like Elon Musk, Tucker Carlson, and Jason Miller may not be serving in the White House, but their influence is well-known, and they are no harder to geofence than the President himself.
